Farm Manager – Wool, Prime Lamb & Cattle
Mansfield Region | 1,650 ha | Family-Owned Operation
A long-established, progressive family-owned farming business in the Mansfield region is seeking an experienced Farm Manager to lead their 1,650-hectare mixed enterprise. Following 16 years of committed service from the current manager, this is a rare opportunity to step into a well-run operation entering an exciting growth phase.
The enterprise includes prime lamb, wool and commercial and registered Angus cattle, with strong systems already in place and scope to further improve performance and productivity.
The Role
Reporting directly to the owners, you will be responsible for the overall management of the farming and livestock program and the day-to-day operation of the property, including:
- Planning and managing livestock and cropping programs (sheep, cattle and cropping)
- Leading and supervising farm hands and contractors
- Implementing and improving systems and procedures
- Budgeting, benchmarking and performance reporting
- Machinery, infrastructure and property maintenance
- Regular reporting and communication with the owners
About You
You will be an experienced Farm Manager with strong technical and leadership skills, and a genuine interest in driving continuous improvement. You will bring:
- Proven experience managing mixed farming enterprises
- Strong sheep, cattle and pasture knowledge
- The ability to lead staff and coordinate contractors
- Sound business, budgeting and reporting skills
- Interest and aptitude for working with new technologies
- A proactive approach to benchmarking and improving systems
