  • 50/50 mixed enterprise – Cropping & Merino Stud
  • 3,400 ha family-owned farming business

The Opportunity
On behalf of our client Wallaloo Park, we are seeking an experienced Cropping Operations Manager to join a well-established, family-owned mixed farming business in the Wimmera region of Victoria.
Reporting directly to the Owner, this is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for the planning, execution, and performance of the cropping program. You will play a key role in decision-making, with significant agronomic input and accountability for results.

This is a long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys ownership of their work, values collaboration, and wants to contribute meaningfully to a progressive farming operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, manage, and actively participate in all aspects of the annual cropping program
  • Provide agronomic input and oversee crop performance and outcomes
  • Maintain accurate records and manage operational data
  • Operate and maintain modern farm machinery
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Communicate clearly with the Owner and team regarding operational decisions
  • Supervise staff and contractors, delegating tasks as required

About You
To be successful in this pivotal role, you will demonstrate:
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role, or a career history showing this is the next logical step
  • Strong understanding of dryland cropping, pasture systems, and their link to livestock performance
  • Proven ability to record, manage, and interpret data
  • Experience in people management with the confidence to delegate
  • Sound mechanical aptitude and experience with modern farm machinery
  • A current ChemCert Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Sheep experience (highly regarded)
  • A proactive mindset, adaptability, and a genuine desire to strive for excellence
